Under the new rules, users can no longer trigger the "Enable Minting" action on an address unless that address already holds Datamine (DAM) tokens. ## Safeguarding Gas Fees on Layer 1 In the Datamine ecosystem, locking DAM on Layer 1 (Ethereum) is the foundational step required to mint FLUX. Previously, it was possible to accidentally initiate the "Enable Minting" transaction on an address with a zero balance. This caused users to incur unnecessary transaction fees on the Ethereum network without any actual token generation. This update acts as an essential frontend guardrail, ensuring you only spend gas when your wallet is fully prepared to participate in the ecosystem.
